Who we are

The Pet Nanny North East is Shauna's pet-care business, covering Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland and the wider North East. This website is built and run on her behalf by ThatGardnerOne, a small development studio in the UK. Between us we look after any information you share here, so if you have a question about your data you can email us at hello@petnannynortheast.com.

What we collect, and why

The site is a simple one at the minute, so there isn't much.

The email you give us

If you register your interest, we keep the email address you type in. We use it for one thing: to let you know when booking opens and the service goes live. We won't sell it, rent it or pass it to anyone else. If you'd like off the list, email us and we'll delete your address.

Analytics, only if you say yes

We'd like to understand how people use the site so we can make it better. We do that with PostHog, which we host ourselves on our own servers rather than handing your visit to a big analytics company. It only runs if you accept it from the cookie banner. If you accept, it sets a cookie and records usage data and session replays, which are a play-back of how the pages were used so we can see what's confusing. If you decline, we fall back to anonymous counts with no cookies, so we can tell how many people visited without knowing who they were.

Server logs

Like nearly every website, our server keeps standard web logs when a page is requested. These include your IP address and basic technical details. We keep them briefly to keep the site secure and working, then they're cleared.

Where your data lives

Everything sits on our own servers in the UK. The one exception is the emails we send you, which go out through Google Workspace, so Google handles your email address to deliver them. We never sell your data to anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep your email until it has done its job (telling you about launch and booking) or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. Analytics data and server logs are kept only for as long as they're useful, then cleared.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Just email hello@petnannynortheast.com and we'll sort it.

Changes to this page

As the business grows and we add things like bookings and accounts, we'll update this page to match. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top.
